Product Designer, Commerce at NBCUniversal, LLC

As a designer on our Commerce team, you’ll create and develop our shopping experiences to better serve customers through our trusted brands. You will work on products that span our core brands and, at the same time, evolve the design systems that support these experiences.


  • Work as part of a passionate, consumer-centric agile team to create and evolve our live coverage experiences for the upcoming election and beyond
  • Channel a broader design vision and articulate product design strategy through visual artifacts.
  • Develop expertise and stay abreast of customer needs and behaviors as they apply to News commerce experiences, in collaboration with the customer experience and research teams.
  • Determine hierarchies of information and content flow, contributing to a design system that evolves and grows around our buyable content.
  • Capture the interactions, edge cases, and different states of these experiences through deliverables such as user flows, wireframes, and prototypes
  • Work and contribute to our design systems as well as cross-platform visual systems and languages
  • Be a lead contributor and/or co-facilitator in product discovery, from research and synthesis to workshops and ideation
  • Use data to inform design decisions and continuously validate your work with real users
  • Map user journeys and flows
  • Partner and collaborate with internal teams, including research, copywriting, marketing, growth, outreach, advertising, business development, and others
  • Use design skills to gather ideas and input from internal stakeholders
  • Create low-fi to high-fi designs as needed in the product development process to make revisions and gain buy-in to ideas.
  • Collaborate with peer designers and their teams to share learnings, leverage shared efforts, and ensure a quality cross-platform experience


• Strong design skills including layout, typography, color,
and interactive design.
• Understanding of usability implications across platforms,
preferably with mobile training
• Mastery of contemporary design, prototyping tools,
and methods
• Portfolio of examples of relevant and finished digital work
and their professional application
• Experience working with OKR, KPI or other objective
measuring frame
• Good knowledge or understanding of HTML, CSS and
• 3+ years of experience as a full-stack product designer
which uses a data-driven and human-centered approach to
product design and development.
• 3+ years of experience developing or contributing to
design systems
• 3+ years of experience with product experience
Discovery, Design Thinking, Lean UX
• Experience in media, news or technology/internet
• Preferred: experience in best accessibility implementation
practices and knowledge of considerations throughout
product process
